Abuja High Court grants Senator Dino Melaye bail

Police not assassins invaded Sen Melaye’s home –Kogi Command

Justice Yusuf Halilu of an Abuja High Court has granted bail to the detained Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye.

The court ruled, following an application by the lawyer of the legislator, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), seeking the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.

He argued that the Senator be released on bail until he his healthy to face trial before a law court.

According to Ozekhome, since the Senator cannot be arraigned on the stretcher or ‎on his hospital bed, he should be allowed on bail to attend to his health.

The judge asked him to produce three sureties, one of whom must be the Clerk of the National Assembly, who must undertake to produce him when he is to be arraigned in respect of a charge already filed against him.

The judge said the other two sureties must be owners of properties within the Abuja metropolis.
