AC Milan sign Bonucci from Juventus

Italian giants AC Milan have signed defender Leonardo Bonucci for a reported 40m euros (£35.1m) from Serie A title holders, Juventus.

The 18-time Italy champions are the highest spenders in Europe this summer, having spent about £160m already, have now added the 30-year-old on a five-year deal.

Milan manager Vincenzo Montella compared his new signing with Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos as the strongest defenders in the world.

“Technically, I think that he and Sergio Ramos are the strongest central defenders in the world,” Montella said.

Meanwhile, Juve completed the signing of full-back Mattia de Sciglio, 24, from Milan for £10.64m.

“Juventus are adding a player with versatility, skill and an international pedigree,” a statement on their website said.
