Account of Twitter user shut down over death threat on a mosquito

A Japanese Twitter user has had his account flagged and frozen after he contravened the service’s rules by making a death threat – against a mosquito.

The Twitter user, who goes by the name DaydreamMatcha, only signed up to the service earlier this month but soon ran into trouble after an angry anti-mosquito outburst while watching television, according to the Sora News 24 website.

“Bastard! Do you enjoy biting me all over while I’m trying to relax and watch TV? Die? (Actually, you’re already dead)”, the tweet declared. The message was accompanied by a picture of the offending insect, dead on the floor.

A short time after his post, DaydreamMatcha received a message from Twitter thanking him for using the service, but informing him that his account “has been frozen because it was used to send messages containing threats.

This is ridiculous, what justification does twitter has to shut the user down? Why didn’t they provide other preventive measures against mosquito instead of deactivating the guy’s account.

Animals have life, treat to any animal’s life is equivalent to treat to human’s life. People don’t take things like this into consideration, they just act without weighing the consequences of their action. Mosquitoes have right to life too.

Stop being silly like twitter. It is wickedness to have deleted the guy’s account. If he was an old user, twitter will value him better.
