History will never forgive Buhari for his much inaction – Jibrin

The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin, who accused the leadership of the 8th House of Representatives of budget ‘padding’ has been sacked by the Appeal Court.

The development followed the nullification of elections in two local government areas of Kiru/Bebeji Constituency, Kano State.

The appellant court, in its ruling delivered by Justice Adejoje Adepoju, nullified the elections and ordered for fresh polls in the constituency.

Aliyu Datti of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and major contender in the election had challenged Jibrin’s victory at the Kano State election petition tribunal.

After the tribunal affirmed Jibrin’s victory as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Datti, not satisfied dragged the matter to the Appeal Court.

In its ruling on the matter on Friday, the appellant court observed that the final result contained in Form EC (8)E as submitted for the constituency was mutilated and therefore cancelled the election in the area.

And in the early days of the current 9th Assembly, Jibrin was in the forefront among those who campaigned strongly for the candidature of Femi Gbajabiamila to emerge as speaker of the lower chamber of the federal legislature.
