There is palpable fear in some quarters over the deteriorating health of Nollywood actor, Prince James Uche.

According to reports, the actor, who has been battling with different illnesses ranging from kidney failure to heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and high blood pressure, has suddenly gone blind at a private hospital located at House 7, Ç Close, 32 Road, Festac Town.

The actor has been bedridden for the past 8 years which has ultimately kept him out of the movie scene and also led to an eviction from his Gbagada home.

Also, in 2012, following his lingering ailment, his wife, who reports say could no longer cope with the burden of taking care of him and their three children, reportedly abandoned him.

According to the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Ibinabo Fiberesima, the Guild has done its bit in assisting the ailing actor and other thespians in similar condition.

“There is so much that a guild can do. We have done everything possible to assist Prince James Uche. What I know is that we have taken care of him for medical treatment. We have receipts and his medical reports to prove this.

“I personally went to every actor that was ill and I took them to hospital for treatment. We took care of everybody that was sick. It wasn’t about paying attention to only one person or two people. In fact, we still have the case of Ozor Akubueze on our hands. He has just undergone a second surgery.” She said.
