Adamawa govt begins payment of N30,000 minimum wage

The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri has directed implementation of the N30,000 National Minimum Wage for state and local government workers beginning from November 2019.

The governor gave the directive on Tuesday when he flagged off the construction and rehabilitation of roads in Toungo, headquarters of Toungo Local Government Area of the state.

He said after conclusion of negotiation between the government and Labour Union, that his administration was determined to commence the payment of the N30,000 minimum wage.

A statement also released on Tuesday by Governor Fintiri’s media aide, Solomon Kumangar said that the governor had directed that payment of the new national minimum wage should commence from November 2019.

“This order covers state civil servants as well as local government employees,” the statement added.
