Afghans demand justice for kidnap and murder of 6-year-old girl

Angry Afghans reacted on social media to demand for severe punishment for the kidnapping and killing of a six-year-old girl in the capital, Kabul on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the girl, named Mahsa, was abducted on Sunday before her captors demanded a ransom of $300,000.

A video clip released by the Kabul police showed the suspects, in their 20s confessing to the crime.

They confessed to picking the child up on a motor bike before killing her when the ransom failed to arrive on time.

London-based human rights organisation Amnesty International also condemned the brutal killing.

“We are horrified to hear the news of a 6-year-old girl’s murder in Kabul. Afghanistan’s children must be protected at all costs,” Amnesty said on Twitter.
