Ten days after Africa’s youngest billionaire Mohammed Dewji was abducted outside a luxury hotel in Dar es Salam, Tanzania, the business tycoon has regained freedom.

The 43-year-old took to his Twitter page hours ago to officially announce his release from the den of his kidnappers.

He wrote on his Twitter handle @DewjiFoundation, saying; “I thank Allah that I have returned home safely. I thank all my fellow Tanzanians, and everyone around the world for their prayers. I thank the authorities of Tanzania, including the Police Force for working for my safe return.” — Mohammed Dewji

Local police say Mohammed was kidnapped in a car that had arrived from “a neighbouring country” after he arrived for a morning workout in Tanzania’s commercial capital.

Forbes estimates his net worth as $1.5 billion, making him Africa’s 17th richest man and its youngest billionaire.
