Afrika Shrine suspends activities over COVID-19

The New Africa Shrine on Wednesday suspended all programmes as part of efforts to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

The Federal Government on Wednesday confirmed five fresh cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The figure brought to eight the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in Nigeria.

The shrine which is a major tourists’ fun spot in the state had attracted dignitaries from all walks of life.

Femi, the son of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, who disclosed this on Twitter, advised Nigerians to stay safe.

He said the Shrine’s management would continue to monitor the situation before reverting to regular programming.

The tweet read: “The management of the New Africa Shrine has halted its regular programming as the country and the world at large continue to take precautionary measures against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
