The chairman, Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Lawal Liman, has vowed to ensure that a stiff opposition is provided to the ruling party in the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Alhaji Lawal made this know on Thursday while addressing newsmen in Gusau, saying that his party members would continue to be law abiding citizens.

“We believe that the victory of PDP in the state is God’s decision and we accept it in good faith, our concern is how the state could move forward,” he said.

He also expressed disappointment in the conduct of some unknown persons who had embarked on destroying APC billboards across the state.

He therefore called on the state government and the PDP leadership to sensitize their supporters against unruly behaviors.

Recall that APC had expelled the immediate past governor of Zamfara, Abdulaziz Yari, for allegedly scuttling the party’s chances in Zamfara.

In a joint statement signed by Alhaji Sirajo Garba Maikatako, the chairman of the APC in Zamfara state, and Muhammad Bello Bakyasuwa, the party’s publicity secretary, the party said it also expelled the deputy national chairman (north), Lawali Shuaibu.

Shuaibu, the party said, was expelled for conniving with Yari to sabotage the National Working Committee (NWC) during the botched primary elections of the state.

The court had nullified the election of candidates of the APC In the last general election, and ordered that the certificates of return be taken from them and issued to the runner ups in that election, which were mostly PDP candidates.
