After eight months in office, Buhari takes vacation

President Muhammadu Buhari has embarked on a short vacation after eight months in office.

The 5 day vacation runs from today, February 5 to February 10, 2016.

According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will perform the functions of the President during the duration of the vacation.

“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives”, the statement said.
