After serving for 7yrs, Yobe Assembly Speaker resigns

Adamu Dala-Dogo, who has remained Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, for the past seven years, on Wednesday resigned his position.

The development was contained in a resignation letter he sent through the House and was read at plenary of the Assembly by the Deputy Speaker, Dr. Ibrahim Kurmi.

Dala-Dogo in the letter thanked his colleagues for the opportunity they gave him to serve in the capacity of speaker.

Following his resignation, the House immediately elected Zannah Machina, as the new Speaker after a motion for nomination of a new Speaker, moved by Ibrahim Kallalawa and seconded by Ishaku Daya.

The former Speaker who represents Karasuwa constituency according to the leader of the House, Usman Kabaruma, tendered his resignation to the House of his own free will.
