Argentine striker, Sergio Aguero scored three times for Manchester City as they thrashed visiting Huddersfield Town 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Pep Guardiola side defeated Arsenal 2-0 in their opener at the Emirates Stadium last week, and have maintained their superb start to the season.

Aguero opened the scoring on 25 minutes to melt strenght of the visitors, who had from the start held up relatively strong on the pitch.

Brazilian Gabriel Jesus added a second seven minutes later with a low strike from the edge of the box, before Aguero stabbed in his second on 35 minutes.

Jon Gorenc Stankovic pulled one back for Huddersfield before half time, but a brilliant free-kick from David Silva resumed scoring for the hosts just after the break.

Aguero then wrapped up his hat-trick on 75 minutes, before a Terence Kongolo own goal sealed an emphatic win for an impressive City.

City are top of the table, having scored eight goals in two games, conceding just one. Huddersfield, meanwhile, drop to the bottom of the standings on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Burnley were beaten 3-1 at home by Watford – their second defeat in two Premier League matches this season.
