AIB releases names of dead Bristow passengers

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has finally released the official list of passengers and crew members onboard the Bristow Helicopter chopper that crashed into a lagoon in Oworosonki area of Lagos on Wednesday August 12.
The official list, which in aviation terminology is known as ‘passengers’ manifest’, contains the names of the 10 passengers and two flight crew members onboard the crashed helicopter, Sikosky S76 C+ .
When the incident occurred last Wednesday, the AIB disclosed that apart from the pilot and co-pilot, there were 10 passengers aboard the chopper. While the pilots and four passengers died, six others survived and were taken to hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
The bodies of the six dead victims were deposited in the mortuary.
Apart from the names of the pilot and the co-pilot, other names were unknown.
Now the AIB has released the official list and the names are: Joseph Wyatt (Captain), Peter Kayode Bello (Co-Pilot).

The passengers are: Ita Ekpeyong, Joshua Emekeme, Dolu Ebiejuara, Onoriode Onojete, Chukwuma Erise and Solomon Udeh.
Others are Chidi Ukwunta, Iniala Opaimi, Chris Abua, Chukwudi Onah.
According to the AIB, the survivors among the lot include Joshua Emekeme, Dolu Ebiejuara, Onoriode Onojete, Solomon Udeh, Iniala Opaimi and Chukwudi Onah.
The AIB in a statement accompanying the passengers’ manifest issued by its spokesman Tunji Oketumbi, said the Sikosky S76 C+ helicopter crashed into the lagoon in Oworonsoki area of Lagos shortly before landing at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
