Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari has urged voters to stay and watch as their votes are counted, and keep record of it in next week’s presidential election.
Aisha spoke on Saturday at the Eagle Square in Abuja during a rally organized by the Women and Youth Presidential Campaign Team, tagged ‘Walk for Buhari.’
The first lady urged supporters to vote for her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Represented by the wife of the Vice-President, Dolabo Osinbajo, Mrs Buhari said, “After you have voted, you must not go back and sleep. You must wait for your votes to be counted and then you write it down.”
Supporters of the President trekked from the Unity Fountain to the Eagle Square in Abuja.
She mentioned that Mr Buhari had been fair to all Nigerians in his first term as the president.
“By walking today, you are telling the world that you are standing with Buhari and the APC.
“Our president is for everybody whether men, women or youth.
“Our president is for the whole of Nigeria. There is no discrimination,” she added.
