Aisha attacks Buhar's N500bn SIP, says it failed woefully

Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, Friday stoked fresh controversy as she shared videos of senators criticising her husband’s government.

Mrs Buhari, via her verified Instagram page, reposted videos by senators Isah Misau and Ben Bruce.

In the videos, the senators delivered scathing criticism against the president, citing his lack of capacity to manage the affairs of the country and pointing to the existence of a powerful self-serving cabal.

The first video from OakTV that Mrs Buhari reposted showed Misau on the floor of the Senate on Thursday berating the president for appointing “an incompetent person” as the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Misau also accused the president of “doing nothing” since he was elected, adding that, “the president has not taken anything to change this country.”

Misau added that 50 per cent of the ministers in Buhari’s administration “are not performing”.

The second video, also from OakTV, showed Bruce, who backed Misau’s opinion that Nigeria was becoming lawless, said,“We either have a government or we don’t…”.

The third video showed Misau saying the government had only three months to correct the anomalies, saying “it’s as if the president is not in charge.”

He advised the leadership of the National Assembly to have a “one –on- one” with the president.

The end of the third video showed former governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, protesting the language used by his colleagues on the president.

Recall that Mrs Buhari had in an interview with the BBC Hausa service in October 2016 expressed her concern that her husband’s government had been hijacked by a cabal.

She said those who “caged” her husband did not even vote for him and that she feared they might cost him the support of the masses.

In his response, while on a visit to Germany, Buhari had said his wife was not in a position to comment on the workings of the administration.
