2019: ‘Don’t set Nigeria ablaze,’ Buhari calls for peaceful campaigns

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has announced the adoption of the presidential candidate of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari as its presidential candidate in the 2019 election.

This was announced by the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle, while launching the party’s campaign in Ogun State on Thursday.

The party then went ahead to present the party’s flag to the president who was represented by the governorship candidate of the APM in the state, Adekunle Akinlade.

Dantalle assured that people of the state were ready to return president Buhari come 2019.

“I congratulate you not just for handing over the flag to the next governor of the state, but for standing up to claim what is your own, for standing for freedom and for standing for the emancipation of your land.

“On behalf of the APM family and the people of Ogun State, Baba is the next president of Nigeria. This flag is for Baba, President Muhammadu Buhari.

“With the mandate of the entire APM family, this flag signifies the adoption of President Buhari as the presidential candidate of Ogun State and Nigeria.”

While responding, Akinlade said he would deliver the flag to the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress and the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun whom he said would deliver it to president Buhari.

It would be recalled that Akinlade who was the governorship candidate of the APC, fell out with the party after his name was not submitted to INEC as the candidate of the APC in the state.

He was preferred by governor Amosun to succeed him as the governor of the state.

Akinlade has since decamped to the APM
