AKWA IBOM: Gov Emmanuel in early lead as APC kicks

Discussions with Buhari in London confidential, not for public consumption- Gov Udom

Incumbent Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom is in an early lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) begins collation of results from Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

Udom, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has so far won in all five local government areas announced by INEC.

The local government areas are Esit Eket, Ibeno, Nsit Ubium, Okobo and Urueoffong/Oruko.

Meanwhile, the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has rejected results from all the areas announced.
