Alhassan’s troubles may have begun as APC summons her over Buhari’s comment

Apparently unhappy with the recent comment on President Muhammadu Buhari by the Minister of Women affairs, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday engaged her in a meeting at its national secretariat at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Alhassan had recently declared that should former Vice President Atiku Abubakar decide to run for president in 2019 that she will support him even in a situation President Buhari also decides to run for a second term in office.

The comment had received different comments from chieftains of the party including Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, who lambasted the minister and said that her loyalty has never been with the President but with Atiku. Some had asked for her immediate sack.

But the party on Thursday summoned the minister to a meeting which is believed was meant to question her over the comment and possibly sanction her as some members of the party are already proposing.

Alhassan arrived at the national secretariat of the party at about 1:45pm. Details of meeting which was a closed-door one held in the office of the national chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun are still unknown.
