Alhassan warns Buhari about Oshiomhole

After her resignation as Minister of Women Affairs, dumping of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Aisha Alhassan, has taken a step further by picking the governorship nomination form of the United Democratic Party (UDP) for Taraba State.

The minister apparently unhappy with her disqualification from participating in the governorship primary of the APC in Taraba State by the party’s National Working Committee on Thursday, had without wasting much time resigned her appointment and immediately pitched her tent with the UDP.

The minister, who defected to UDP along with all the executives of APC at the state, local government and ward levels, as well as other aspirants on the platform of the party, has also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, before he totally destroys the ruling party.

She told newsmen at her residence in Jalingo on Saturday, that her dumping of APC has rendered the party the weakest in the state.

Alhassan was the gubernatorial candidate of APC in the 2015 general elections. She came second behind the state incumbent governor, Darius Ishaku, in that election.

Meanwhile, APC Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, has reportedly claimed that the party was not worried by the resignation of Alhassan also known as Mama Taraba.

He said rather than be concerned over her resignation that the APC was relieved by her departure.

Some political commentators believe the APC treatment of the minister was a payback for her comments last year that she would support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s presidential ambition even if Buhari was going to seek for a re-election.
