Alicia Keys to perform at UCL final

The world-famous singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys has been asked to perform at the finale of Europe’s premier club competition in Italy at the end of next month, she has confirmed.

UEFA have confirmed Alicia Keys will perform as part of the Champions League final pre-match entertainment at the San Siro stadium in Milan on Saturday May 28.

The singer-songwriter, who has previous hits with singles ‘No One’ and ‘Girl on Fire’, has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and will headline the revamped pre-game ceremony.

Broadcast in 220 countries, the tie is set to be the most watched event on the sporting calendar and reach an estimated global live audience of 180 million viewers.

With the competition still in the semi-final stages, the clash will involve two teams from Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.

Following the announcement, New York born performer Keys was thrilled at the prospect of singing in front of a worldwide audience.

“I’m extremely excited to share my new music at the UEFA Champions League final, an event that is celebrated in every corner of the world,” she said.

“This is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are.

“I’m honoured to be a special part of such a beloved experience.”
