Ezekwesili bombs Buhari’s aide, Shehu over IPOB remarks

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to “move on” from the allegations of fraud raised by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, against the Maikanti Baru-led Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in his leaked memo.

This is coming on the heels of the reports making the rounds that Baru and Kachikwu were now determined to put their differences behind them and work together on the instructions of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting to this in series of tweets via her Twitter handle, @obyezeks, the former minister said treating Kachikwu’s allegations with levity will reflect poorly on President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress’ declared anti-corruption fight.

Ezekwesilli cited the N1.3bn grass-cutting allegation levelled against suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, saying, “the credibility of President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption agenda suffers” if Kachikwu’s accusations get buried also.

She said, “I hope the Muhammadu Buhari’s government does not plan on “moving on”. Governance is not about “personal beefs” and “reconciliation”.

PMB’s perceived credibility has since gone out the window. He doesn’t have any credibility left so he can act as he pleases. We were deceived by the very well packaged and polished image of an incorrupt and incorruptible Buhari. Sad!
