ALLEGED ASSAULT: Jay Z hits lawyer Tony Buzbee with lawsuit over extortion attempts

American rapper Sean Carter, known professionally in music circles as Jay Z has hit Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee with a lawsuit over alleged extortion.

Attorney Tony Buzbee allegedly attempted to extort enormous sums of money from Jay Z through two distinct allegations, one of which was dismissed and the other of which never even reached court, according to recently filed court records.

Buzbee filed two demand letters to Jay-Z in November 2024, according to papers TMZ was able to obtain. One of the letters was connected to Jane Doe, who claimed that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs had r@ped her when she was 13 in 2000.

The second concerned a John Doe who, after being covertly drugged by someone other than Jay-Z, claimed that Jay-Z sexually attacked him at a party in Beverly Hills in 2015.

Both accusations are “false and ridiculous in every respect,” according to Jay-Z, who has refuted them. According to Jay-Z, Buzbee sought “something of substance” to resolve the “situation,” and his legal team saw Buzbee’s communications as obvious attempts at extortion.

This development comes days after Judge Analisa Torres of the New York Court granted a motion filed by Jay Z, requesting to dismiss a rape case against him.

On Thursday, January 2, Judge Torres allowed the 55-year-old rapper’s legal team’s request to file a move for dismissal in the case filed against their client by an Alabama woman who alleged that Jay Z s3xually assaulted her 24 years ago.

”Carter’s request to file a motion to dismiss Plaintiff’s amended complaint is GRANTED,’ Torres wrote in court documents posted by law journalist Meghann Cuniff on X/Twitter a week ago.
