Two embattled Supreme Court judges accused of corruption Iyang Okoro and Sylvester Ngwuta, have stepped down, it has been leant.

The two judges who were among the seven judges recently arrested by operatives of the State Security Service (DSS) following allegations of corruption were said to have stepped down on Monday.

According to him, the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC) did not suspend any of them, but the judges on their own decided to voluntarily step down from all judicial functions.

The DSS had on October 7 and 8 arrested seven judges on allegations of corruption, but the judges had denied involvement in anything of such, alleging that they were only being persecuted for the position they took against being used to corrupt justice.
