Alleged Forgery: Court vacation pushes Saraki, Ekweremadu’s trial to Sept 28

The trial of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, failed to hold today as court went on vacation.

The case which is before a Federal High Court in Jabi, Abuja, was adjourned till September 28.

Saraki, Ekweremadu, and two others, a former Clerk to the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasu, and his then deputy, Benedict Efeturi, who are being prosecuted of forgery of Senate Standing Orders arrived the court premises early enough but left as soon as they were informed that the court was not going to sit.

A Federal High Court in Jabi, Abuja had on June 27 arraigned the accused persons on two counts of criminal conspiracy and forgery before Justice Yusuf Halilu.
