The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on May 7 arraigned the senator representing Jos North at the Senate on 12- count charges bordering on alleged N6.3 billion fraud.

The court had on Wednesday, May 16 remanded the former governor in prison, pending ruling in his bail application over the alleged corruption and misappropriation case.

When the matter came up on Thursday, the trial judge, Justice Daniel Longji, granted Jang bail on two conditions; two sureties in the sum of N100 million each. One of the sureties must be a First Class traditional ruler within the jurisdiction.

The senator must also deposit his international passport.

The second accused, a cashier in the office of the Secretary to the State Government, one Yusuf Pam, is to produce two sureties with N50 million each, with one of them being a Permanent Secretary or anyone within that rank as well as submission of international passport.

Jang was said to have committed the alleged corruption during his tenure in office.
