ALLEGED N2.1BN FRAUD: Dokpesi secures court’s approval for medical treatment abroad

Court insists Dokpesi must explain N2.1bn Dasuki money

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, granted the request by the Chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi, to seek medical treatment abroad.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had re-arraigned Dokpesi before Justice John Tsoho for allegedly receiving N2.1 billion from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in 2015

The judge, who granted the application filed by Dokpesi’s lawyer, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), also granted the application for adjournment.

He adjourned the matter till January 21, January 22 and January 23 for the defendant to open his defence.

Dokpesi had urged the court to order the release of his international passports in custody of the deputy chief registrar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, to enable him to travel to the American Hospital, Dubai and the London Hospital, United Kingdom, for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.
