ALLEGED N40bn FRAUD: Ex-customs boss, Dikko, forfeits 17 luxury vehicles to FG

Former Customs boss, Abdullahi Dikko, who is currently embroiled in a N40billion fraud case is to forfeit 17 exotic vehicles recovered from a warehouse allegedly owned by him.

The vehicles were seized February 20 by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The order of temporary forfeiture is the ruling of a Federal High Court which sat in Kaduna on Friday and was sequel to an ex parte application by the EFCC seeking among others, the forfeiture of the vehicles to the government.

Justice S.M Shuaibu who gave the ruling said that the order will subsist until the outcome of investigations by the anti-graft agency.

“Seventeen vehicles which are now in the custody of the applicant ( EFCC) and as properly described and listed in the schedule marked exhibit EFCC 2 attached to the affidavit in support of the application are hereby forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria in the interim pending conclusion of the investigation,” Justice Shuaibu ruled.

Dikko’s travails began in 2016 when the EFCC began an inquisition into his tenure as helmsman at the Customs.

He is said to have returned N1billion to the coffers of the Nigerian state while properties valued at over N2billion have also allegedly been seized from him.
