SEX-FOR-MARKS: Ex-OAU lecturer arraigned by ICPC, remanded in Prison

Embattled Professor Richard Akindele, the alleged randy lecturer who was caught on tape requesting for sex from one of his female students in exchange is to go on indefinite suspension according to reports.

That much information was revealed after the meeting of a committee set up by the management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, recommended the punishment for Professor Akindele.

According to a member of the committee; “We recommended indefinite suspension of the professor pending the time the final report will be ready. The committee, in its interim report, established a prima facie case against him.

“We invited him and the female student. We identified the student and invited her, but she did not appear; only the professor honoured our invitation. I don’t want to tell you what he said on the telephone.”

Reacting to the scandal in a statement, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, the Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, said the institution had zero tolerance for sexual harassment while also assuring that Professor Akindele will be made to face the music if he is found culpable.
