Allegri agrees to Chelsea coaching deal

Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, has agreed to become Chelsea’s next manager, according to Italian website, Calcio Mercato.

The 48-year-old has reportedly reached a pre-contract agreement with the Blues to become Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor at the end of the current season.

At that stage he is set to put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth €4.5m-a-year, the article claims. He could also bring some of his Juve backroom staff to England with him.

Allegri is said to be Blues owner Roman Abramovich’s first-choice for the job, ahead of the likes of ex-Chile boss, Jorge Sampaoli, Italy coach, Antonio Conte and Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, who have also been linked with the Stamford Bridge job in media reports.

The Italian still has one-and-a-half years to run on his Juve contract, so that could prove to be a sticking point. But Allegri is keen to make the move to the Premier League and wants to become Chelsea’s next manager.

Interim boss Guus Hiddink is in charge until the summer.
