A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Maitama, Abuja, Wednesday, ordered the prosecution to allow the detained former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, access to his lawyers during working hours.

Trial judge, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf made the order consequent to an application by Dasuki’s lead counsel, Mr Joesph Daudu (SAN), informing the court that they do not  have access to him.

Daudu, in the application, informed the court that because they had no access to him, they could not get enough information for his defence.

According to Daudu, the application before the appellate court was for stay of proceedings.

Adeniyi however opposed the application for longer adjournment and prayed the court not to grant Daudu’s application. He reminded the court that the Department of State Services (DSS) said they had never received any request for access from anybody.

Justice Baba-Yusuf however ordered that Dauski should be made available to his lawyers to enable them get information from him that would aid them in his defence, just as he adjourned the case to May 3 for continuation.
