Fani-Kayode threatens to drag Amaechi to court, demands N5bn

The controversy trailing the discovery of about N18billion cash in a highbrow Lagos residence by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has widened with claims by Governor Ayodele Fayose’s aide, Lere Olayinka, that the cash haul belongs to Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transport.

The recovered monies which were discovered following a lead by a whistleblower were stashed as follows: $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000.

Speaking Thursday via his Facebook handle, Olayinka alleged thus: “The Osborne Towers, a luxury residential complex in Ikoyi, Lagos where EFCC said it found $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000 on Wednesday is owned by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.”

“The house was built by Alhaji Adamu Muazu, the former Chairman of PDP
through a loan from GTBank.”

“He could not repay the loan so GTB took over the house and allocated the Pent House to Muazu and two flats.”

“Rotimi Amaechi bought TWO of the flats (7A and 7B). He then gave 7A to MO ABUDU, the TV presenter, who is suspected to be his girl friend.”

“But the flat 7B where the money was found belong to Rotimi Amaechi. The is believed to be cash kept for 2019 elections.”

“Let’s see how the cover up game goes.”

However, in a swift reaction, David Iyofor, a media aide to Amaechi countered the claim saying, “Lere or whatever you call yourself, delete your lies or be ready to face the consequences of stupidity and utter foolishness.”

“You better hear well before your ear sends you to prison. Lying is not playing Politics. You dont play politics by tweeting outright lies.”

“Where is your proof? If you think you can link Amaechi to the House&money by tweeting this rubbish, then you need to have your head examine.”

“Big Liar! Demonic Liar! Listen, you disgusting pig, Rotimi Amaechi is not connected or linked in anyway whatsoever to the house &/or money.”

While both media aides trade tackles, however, former governor of Bauchi State, Adamu Muazu, and later Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has admitted owning but later forfeiting the Osborne property to GTBank for being unable to settle debts owed the organization.

Initial reports from multiple sources had alleged that the cash haul belonged to Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, a former Managing Director, Retail, at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). She has since denied the reports.

There had also been unconfirmed reports that the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) was laying claims to the recovered monies as well.

Lere Olayinka Must have been the whistle blower for knowing the details of the house so much like he lives in (or) around the house. EFCC should question him for knowing so much as well

Lying is not playing politics but an act of foolishness, we hear you right Mr. David Iyofor, but if Lere can out rightly back up his claims with proofs, then we’d know who the liar is. None of these guys in politics and power can be trusted.

Lere is just like his master, Fayose who likes attention. Everything he said about Amaechi are just to get him attention from the public, just ignore him and everything he said.

Fayose ‘s aide is just being a nuisance and saying rubbish. I know his boss might have ordered him to do so.

A house on Osborne road Ikoyi should not take five minutes to uncover its owners. Or no building approval.
