The former Rangers boss, who led the Enugu side to their first NPFL title in over 30 years in 2016, left the club last April after struggling with them in the subsequent 2017 season.

Imama will replace Ladan Bosso who was relieved of his job four days ago after being in charge for two seasons, finishing 9th and 6th in the league respectively.

Amapakabo joined Salisu Yusuf in leading the home-based Super Eagles to qualify for the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) before they went on to finish as runners-up at the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations in Ghana.
