AMINA ZAKARI: Ezekwesili fumes, warns of grave consequence
Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, has condemned the appointment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s blood relative, Amina Zakari as head of collation centre for the 2019 elections.
She wondered if the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, and President Muhammadu Buhari can be able to face the consequences the appointment would generate.
INEC chairman had on Thursday commissioned Mrs. Zakari, Buhari’s niece, a commissioner of the electoral body, as head of collection centre for the elections.
But in her reaction in a post on her Twitter handle, Ezekwesili fumed at the development, warning that the appointment could attract grave consequences.

“It is now quite obvious that the @inecnigeria Chairman is making decisions that cannot at all be INDEPENDENT. How in the world can @inecnigeria appoint Amina Zakari – niece of @MBuhari – as its Head of Collation Center? Are the INEC Chairman &President ready for the grave consequence?”She said.
The major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and many other Nigerians have also condemned the appointment.
