Amnesty International frowns at Iran’s execution of juveniles

Iran’s continued execution of juveniles over the last 15 years has been slammed by rights group, Amnesty International.

According to the group, dozens of juveniles have been executed since 2005 with at least 49 others currently facing execution.

A 110-page detailed report issued on Tuesday by the group shows that Iran executed at least 73 juvenile offenders between 2005 and 2015.

According to the most recent figures from Amnesty, compiled in 2014, Iran only ranks behind China in second place as the world’s largest enforcers of the death penalty code.
