Amokachi gets new coaching job in Finland

Former Super Eagles Assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi, signed a one year deal with Finland second division side Jalkapalloseura Hercules.

According to the club’s website “Oulu-based football club Hercules has signed an agreement with former Nigeria national team player and Coach Daniel Amokachi. The head coach for the previous season Pekka Haaranen will continue as assistant coach. Amokachi’s agreement with Hercules is one year.”

Jalkapalloseura Hercules chairman Juho Edge expressed the club’s satisfaction over the acquisition of Amokachi as head coach.

“The fact that we get our team’s head coach this great ex-player and coach is for us a big step forward. It opens up new perspectives on our business and shakes us out of putting aside formulas,” said the club chairman.
Amokachi was trained as a coach in the Netherlands and has managed the Super Eagles, Nigeria U23 team, Nasarawa United and FC IfeanyiUbah.

He has now joined Nigerian coaches like Chuks Akuneto (FC United of Manchester, England), Benedict Akwuegbu (AK Gratkon, Austria), Afusi Joseph Chukwuemeka (Sheikh Jamal Dhanmond of Bangladesh) who are in charge of teams abroad.
