Amokachi urges Ndidi to join club with Champions League ambition

Former Nigeria international, Daniel Amokachi has urged Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, to move to a club with the ambition of winning the UEFA Champions League.

23-year-old Ndidi has been impressive at Premier League side Leicester City, having played regularly since his arrival at the King Power Stadium in 2017.

Rated as one of the best tacklers in Europe, Ndidi has ahead of the summer transfer window been linked with top European clubs.

Amokachi, who was speaking during a radio programme, strongly opined that the star defensive midfielder is bigger than his current club and should move to a club like Paris Saint-Germain in France.

“When you want to make a move you put a lot of things into consideration. He (Ndidi) would love to go to a place where he would play a lot of football,” Amokachi said.

“If he goes to Paris Saint-Germain, if the deal scales through, I think he’s going to where he’s going to be surrounded by superstars. And when you are surrounded by superstars your game improves more.

“For me it is a good move, what I always pray and wish for him is to sign for a big club not Leicester, his football has passed Leicester, I have been preaching this for the past few years.

“PSG is a household name and the money that they’ve spent, their dream is to win the Champions League. Winning the league is no problem because they’ve been winning it and to go to a team that has the ambition to win the Champions League, it will be good.

“So if he can leave Leicester and go to a team like PSG, why not? And if he can go to other big teams, he deserves it because with the quality he has, he is one of the top five best number four in the world today.”

Ndidi has made 111 appearances for the Foxes in the league, scoring six goals.
