'Who knows who will be alive tomorrow?' Amosu cautions APC leaders plotting towards 2023

The governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has accused the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole the immediate past governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola for the embarrassment that greeted the presidential campaign rally in the Abeokuta on Monday.

At the rally, supporters of the party were seen throwing stones at the podium which housed President Muhammadu Buhari and other top members of the party.

The party, through its publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa – Onilu, blamed the governor for the embarrassing experience.

But Amosun reacted saying the uncensored speeches by Oshiomhole and Aregbesola provoked the crowd who reacted by pelting stones at the President and other members of the party.

In a statement by Rotimi Durojaiye, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Amosun said Issa –Onilu was only being used by Oshiomhole to express his (Oshiomhole) self-seeking activities within the party.

“It is clearly ridiculous that someone will author the statement purportedly signed by Mr Lanre Issa – Onilu. As the governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun was not only the host at the rally, he organised the grand reception for Mr President.

“The statement by Mr Onilu is another confirmation of the personification of the APC by Comrade Oshimhole who is using the party to ventilate his personal grouse against Governor Amosun.

“It is however becoming clear to every discerning mind that the injustice meted out to the overwhelming majority of members of the APC in Ogun State by Comrade Oshiomhole and his cohorts cannot stand”.
