Amosun set to obtain $350m World Bank loan less than a month to handing over

The Ogun State Government has revealed that it is about obtaining a $350 million loan facility from the World Bank, less than a month to the expiration of the current administration of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Governor Amosun revealed this when a delegation from the bank visited him in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The governor, who insisted that his administration would do everything possible to secure the loan, said the incoming administration already had the support needed to enhance good governance.

According to him, the loan would help create a system-driven environment for business, just as he called on the bank’sdelegation to fast-track the process for its final approval.

Presenting a progress report to the governor on the loan, the Task Team Leader for the World Bank, Mr. Kofi Nouve, explained that the major aim was to help the state government put in place necessary reforms and critical social investments that would help uplift the welfare of the populace.

He also informed the governor that the team has got the final approval to proceed with the final design mission.
