AMVCA 2017: Rita Dominic, “’76”- the movie emerge big winners
The 2017 edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards staged yesterday at the Eko Hotels and Suits in Lagos turned out to be a big night for Nollywood actress Rita Dominic and the movie ’76.
Rita Dominic won “Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/TV Series)” for the movie “’76”, and moments after receiving the award, the actress dedicated the award to “the unsung heroines”, who she identified as the wives of military men.
“It is very important that we teach our children the events that helped shaped this country (Nigeria)”, Rita said at the venue of the event.
With nominations in 14 categories, the movie, “’76” also won “Best Overall Movie” at the awards ceremony voted on by the general public.

Hosted by Nigeria’s IK Osakioduwa and Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini from South Africa, the movie awards which turned out to be the fifth edition witnessed the highlights of outstanding achievement in television and film during the year 2016.
