ANAMBRA 2017: Ex-FRSC boss Chidoka guns for PDP ticket

Osita Chidoka, a one-time minister for aviation and former Corps Marshal of the FRSC has joined in the race for who’ll occupy the Government House, Awka come November 18, 2017.

He announced on Monday that he would vie for the governorship position under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former boss of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) told a consultative meeting of the party at Otuocha, near Awka that his desire to serve the people informed his choice to run for the governorship position in the state.

While he also noted that he is willing to serve the people under any capacity, he also noted that he has been involved in voluntary services since his days as a youth corps members.

Chidoka asserted that even as a counsellor, he would serve, because it does not matter the position, so long as the people’s interest is served.

“Since my youth service years, I have been involved in volunteer service; so the driving motive for this ambition is to serve the people of the state,” Chidoka said.

He stated that the time has come for the PDP to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) an also explained that the PDP would not use zoning to pick its candidate for the election.

Also speaking at the occasion, Chief Thompson Chikezie, the party’s chairman in the Local Government, said Chidoka was in the area to intimate the people of his desire to contest the election, adding that it shows open-mindedness, respect, love and seriousness.
