An email correspondence from Chief Tony Anenih to a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Chief Olu Falae, has implicated former President Goodluck Jonathan in the N100m election fund Falae received before the 2015 general elections.
Anenih, a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, allegedly wired the money to the account of a company belonging to Falae, who is the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
According to reports, Falae tendered the email as an evidence in the probe being conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

According to a source at the EFCC, Anenih informed Falae in the email that the former President Jonathan approved N100m to be handed over to him.
The source said: “In the email, Anenih told Chief Falae, who is the Chairman of the SDP that N100 million had been approved by President Jonathan as part of the agreement between the PDP and the SDP ahead of the presidential election.
“He further urged Falae to provide an account which the money would be paid into.”
It was alleged that the money was sourced from the imprest account of the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA.
