Another court grants Dasuki, others bail

Embattled former National security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki, alongside a former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yugular and others, got a breather on Monday, as another High Court of the Federal Capital Territory granted them bail in a seperate case involving N9.6 billion.

Sambo Dasuki and Bashir Yuguda were arraigned alongside a former director of finance at the office of the NSA, Shuaibu Salisu; a former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa; his son, Sagir, and two firms, Dalhatu Investment Limited and Jabbam Ada Global Services by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, for criminal breach of trust and of obtaining stolen property.

In his ruling in the accused persons bail application, Justice Peter Affect, granted them bail in the sum of N250 million each with a surety in like sum.

According to the judge, the surety must be a civil servant, serving or retired and not less than the rank of a director, adding that the accused persons should submit their passports with the court registrar and that any travel plans outside of Abuja must be conveyed to the court.

The court also ordered that the accused are to be remanded in Kuje prison pending when they meet their bail application.

It will be recalled that Dasuki and others were also granted bail by another High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Friday in a 19 count charge of money laundering and criminal breach of trust.
