Another ex-gov joins race to battle Oshiomhole for APC chairmanship post

Another former governor from Edo State, has joined the battle for the race to pick a national chairman for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oserheimen Osunbor, will be contesting with the immediate past governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, an erstwhile governor of Cross River State, Clement Ebri; and a member of the APC in the United Kingdom, Ibrahim Emokpaire, for the post.

Osunbor submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms at the APC secretariat to the party’s National Convention Committee in Abuja late Friday to join the other three who had earlier completed the process.

The two former Edo State governors and the other two aspirants are in a battle to replace outgoing national chairman of the APC, who is also a former governor from Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

Friday was the last day for the purchase and submission of nomination forms for the APC’s national convention slated to hold in Abuja on June 23.

Interestingly, Oshiomhole was the one who kicked out Osunbor from the governorship seat in Edo State via a court ruling that annulled the election of Osunbor, and proclaimed Oshiomhole the duly elected governor.
