Another prominent monarch dies in Kano

Jarman Kano, Professor Isa Hashim is dead. He died Sunday morning following a brief illness.

Hashim, who is a senior counsellor in the Kano emirate council, according to a family source, Ibrahim Aliyu, died at age 86.

Aliyu told reporters, that following the deaths of some of Hashim’s childhood friends in quick succession, that the traditional title holder suddenly fell ill and died.

The late Jarman Kano was a Professor of Political Science, a senior lecturer with Bayero University Kano (BUK), where he taught for many years before his retirement.

In recent times there have been a surge in the death of prominent persons in Kano State fueling speculations that they might have died of COVID-19.

This is especially as confirmed cases of the virus in the state have continued to increase recently.
