Another VIP, ex-police boss, Malikawa, dies in Kano

The death of a former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hamza Idris Malikawa, has been confirmed in Kano State.

Malikawa’s demise was confirmed on Tuesday by his younger borther, Rilwanu, who informed in a post on social media that the retired police officer joined his ancestors on Monday.

“He was admitted to the hospital three days. He died yesterday (Monday). He is a diabetic patient”, Riliwanu, who is also the media officer of Kano Pillars FC, posted on Twitter.

Pillars FC also mourned the deceased when it posted on Twitter saying, “Our thought and prayers are with the family of the Media Officer of our darling club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa, who lost his brother, former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hamza Idris Malikawa. He would be buried this morning in Kano. May his soul rest in peace!”

Malikawa’s death came after the demise of Jarman Kano, Professor Isa Hashim on Sunday morning following a brief illness.

Hashim, who is a senior counsellor in the Kano emirate council, according to a family source, Ibrahim Aliyu, died at age 86.

Aliyu told reporters, that following the deaths of some of Hashim’s childhood friends in quick succession, that the traditional title holder suddenly fell ill and died.
