Edo Police CP insists Oshiomhole was not attacked in the state

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has raised a five-man disciplinary committee to investigate iits Deputy National Chairman, North, Lawal Shuaibu over alledged incitement of members against its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

The decision to investigate Shuaibu was taken at 38th regular meeting of the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, in Abuja on Thursday.

It would be recalled that Shuaibu had called on Oshiomhole to resign his position over what he called his leadership style.

However, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said in a statement on Thursday that the NWC passed a vote of confidence in Oshiomhole despite Shuaibu’s outburst against him.

He also revealed that investigative committee headed by a former Ekiti State Governor, Niyi Adebayo, would investigate Shuaibu for allegedly instigating some unnamed members of the party in the National Assembly against the party’s decision on choice of next leaders of the federal legislative arm of government.

The committee, he said, is expected to submit its report within seven days.

“After extensive deliberation, the NWC resolved as follows: to pass a vote of confidence on the National Chairman, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole

“To set up a five-man disciplinary committee headed by Otunba Niyi Adebayo to investigate the following: the allegation levelled by Senator Lawal Shuaibu against the National Chairman on issues involving the collective decisions of the National Working Committee.”
