APC split over Ondo guber primaries

Frustrated by Oyegun’s inaction, APC NEC members write Buhari over neglect

The Ondo governorship primaries has polarized the National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

This is as a meeting convened to decide on the report of the Ondo APC governorship primaries Appeals Committee, could not come to a conclusion after three hours of intense discussions.

The meeting, which had most members of the NWC in attendance, held on Monday at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

This also coming after the appeal panel, headed by Margaret Bendaga, secretly submitted its report of Friday evening without taking a decision on whether to cancel or uphold the primaries, sources said.

The failure of the committee to take a decision however divided the NWC.

Sources at the meeting revealed that the panel, in its reports, noted that the primaries was flawed based on the evidence available at its disposal, particularly evidence of tampering with the delegates’ list.

It would be recalled that the Ondo APC Governorship primaries, conducted on September 3, became controversial after three of the aspirants kicked against the emergence of Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, alleging that the delegates list was tampered with.
