APC: State chairmen split over plot to remove Oshiomhole

Published

The move to remove the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has split the state chairmen of the party. The state party chairmen were divided over the call for Oshiomhole’s removal by some party chieftains, especially the governors.

Some state chairmen, who spoke to New Telegraph in anonymity, said there were pressures on them to move against the National Chairman.

According to them, some state chairmen were meeting in small groups to consider the option of removing the party’s National Chairman. A state chairman said: “It is not removing Oshiomhole that is the problem, but the consequences of that removal.

“If such action would cost us the next election, it would not be good for us and if his stay as chairman would also cost us the election next year, it would not be good for the party.
