APC suspends Adamawa exco 4 days to primaries

Four days to it’s governorship primaries , the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the Adamawa state executives of its party.

Though details of the suspension was yet to be made public as at the time of this report, Ripples Nigeria gathered that the executive of the state APC was suspended indefinitely.

The suspension it was learnt followed a petition by major stakeholders of the party in the state including former Secretary-General of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and President Muhammadu Buhari’s in-law, Dr. Mahmood Halilu Modi.

The development is coming on the heels of allegations in some quarters that there are high level plots by some chieftains of the party backed by some cabals in Abuja to ensure the state governor, Jibirilla Bindow, who is seeking a second term in office does not return.

Recall that the forum of former vice chairmen and elected councilors in the state recently announced withdrawal of support for Bindow over non-payment of their entitlements.

The group was said to have pitched their tent with Buhari’s brother in-law Mahmood, who it was learnt the Abuja cabal and some stakeholders of the party in the state are backing to grab the APC’s governorship ticket in the state primaries slated for Saturday.

It was further learnt that the suspended executive members were the only support muscle Bindow was banking on to survive beyond 2019 in the APC politics in Adamawa.
